Over the past few years, four of my paintings have been hung at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. This year Little Corella (aka Ice Cream) has been accepted which is especially pleasing as this is part of a project I have been working on at Raystede Animal Welfare and Sanctuary, near Ringmer in East Sussex. How lovely that a portrait of one of these enchanting rescue birds hangs on the splendid Academy walls.

The Summer Exhibition is a great event in which to be involved.  It is a truly honest open with no requirement to write a CV or personal statement. The artists are treated well and those accepted are given a marvellously fun time. Interestingly, it's always been one of my animal pictures that has been selected.
