Over the past few years, four of my paintings have been hung at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. In 2016 Little Corella (aka Ice Cream) was  accepted which was especially pleasing as Ice Cream was part of a project I worked on at Raystede Animal Welfare and Sanctuary, near Ringmer in East Sussex. How lovely that a portrait of one of these enchanting rescue birds was hung on the splendid Academy walls.

The Summer Exhibition is a great event with which to be involved.  It is a simple open with no requirement to write a CV or personal statement. The artists are treated well and those accepted are given a special and fun time. Interestingly, it's always been one of my animal pictures that has been selected.
